How to Pack 1.01

Finally, it’s this time of the year when you have to pack for your long wait vacation. Do you have a problem with packing? Do you usually forget stuff? Or, are you just bored? Here are some tips that will help you pack, faster, simpler, and more efficient.

  1. Make a list
Yeah I know it sounds boring, and no one has time to make one, but believe me, it helps. Keep in mind that you are making the list when you are calm and in the mood for your next trip, which means you are stress-free and less hectic with time. A good idea is to separate the essentials from the desirables. Keep in mind that your luggage has limitations as well, you cant carry your whole wardrobe with you. So, need a list? We might be able to help.
  2. Create a 1st aid kit
I know, I know, it’s another boring thing to do, but it can save you a lot of hustle and time and mood searching around for a specific medicine. You don’t know the pharmaceutical logistics in the country you are about to visit, so you better be proactive. You don’t have to prepare for the ER, so a small bag with the basics will do.
  3. Save bag space for gifts
And I am not only referring to gifts for others but gifts for your self as well. We all like to pick up something as we go. It could be anything, from duty free to holiday mementos, so you better do the math and leave some space for that.
  1. Skip the shoes
You read it right. I haven’t traveled once without bothering with what to do with my shoes. Κeep it simple, you don’t have to carry a pair for every occasion. Choose wisely and bring a couple of all-arounders . If you are going to a summer destination, even better, who needs shoes anyway?
  2. All valuables to hand luggage
Do I need to elaborate on this one? It’s rare (yeah right) that airlines tend to misplace luggage, but why risk it? Play safe and keep your valuables with you. This includes chargers, adapters and pretty much any kind of electronics. Must I remind you of everything?
  3. Categorize stuff
Important and necessary things go to the top. Everyone knows that. Or maybe not. Last time I visited Athens I had to search for my coat all the way to the bottom of my suitcase. It wasn’t fun and it definitely wasn’t pretty. Pack what you will probably need last. Typical Last In First Out rule.
  1. Essentials essentials essentials
The penultimate tip, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT leave your house without the absolute necessities: check and double-check that you have cash, valid passport, ID – and for the love of your travel partner-companion please DO remember to bring a toothbrush. Keep the list and only then you will be able to remember the most important thing…

Enjoy your vacation!!!

Having technology as a hobby I decided to make a living out of it, so at the moment I am the IT Support Specialist at Enorme Hotels & Villas. Being a bit geeky I am into movies (yeah star wars as well), games and extreme sports such as windsurfing. I also own a cat named Tommie or he owns me, I don't know yet. On the other hand, reading is NOT one of my things, researching for stuff though is, and that's exactly where I get most of my ideas flowing.
